1-President of India to Visit Gujarat
- The President will commence his engagements with paying his tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at his birth place, Kirti Mandir, Porbandar.
- Also attented the function organized by the Government of Gujarat to declare ODF status for Rural Gujarat at Kirti Mandir.
- Inaugurate/lay foundation stone various schemes/initiatives such as inauguration of Jetty & other facilities at Jafarabad Fishing Harbour; upgradation of Veraval & Porbandar fishing Harbour; upgradation of Navibandar, Miyani & Salaya Fish Landing Centre
- Laying the stone for development of Mangrol Phase-III fishing Harbour
- Announcement for development of Veraval Phase-II, Porbandar Phase-II, Navabandar, Mandhavad & Sutrapada Fishing Harbours and inauguration of Mangrol Rural Water Supply Augmentation Scheme of 45 villages at Mangrol.
2-Urban Maharashtra Open Defecation Free
- President Shri.Ramnath Govind was visited maharastra and participatede in various functions/events
- He congratulated the Government and Chief Minister of Maharashtra on the historic occasion of urban Maharashtra being declared Open Defecation Free. He congratulated all the members of the “Swachh Maharashtra Team”
- 49 per cent of Maharashtra’s people live in urban areas.
- ‘Smart Cities’, he said, also require ‘Smart Sanitation’ and ‘Smart Waste Management’
- The state has been successful in realising the goal of 'ODF', it would also realise the goal of 'Managing 100 per cent Waste'.
- The President inaugurated the Shirdi International Airport,from Shirdi to Mumbai
- Inaugurated the centenary year celebrations of the Samadhi of Shri Sai Baba in Shirdi.
- Sai Baba explained the philosophy of 'Advaita'

- Cleanliness is not only the responsibility of sanitation personnel and Government Departments.
- Today, India is fighting a decisive battle for cleanliness and hygiene through the ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ campaign. Gandhiji believed that ‘Cleanliness is next to Godliness’
- Gandhiji visualized cleanliness as having three dimensions- a clean mind, a clean body and clean surroundings
- Rashtriya Rifles the premier fighting force of Indian Army was raised on 01 October 1990 by then Chief of Army Staff General VN Sharma.
- The Force which is engaged in constant counter terrorism operations, celebrated 27 years
- The forces engaged in Jammu and Kashmir by creating secure environment leading to incident free elections, carried out flood relief operations

5-Military Nursing Service- 92nd Raising Day
- New Addl. Director General Military Nursing Service Maj Gen Elizabeth
- October 1, 1926 MNS was formally established as permanent nursing service in the Indian Army, which has come a long way in serving the three Services round-the-clock.
- During the 1st World War, dire need of nursing care of Indian soldiers was recognised; the Army nurses served in Flanders, the Mediterranean, the Balkans, West Asia and on board hospital ships
- MNS officers have played a pivotal role in care of sick and injured soldiers during four wars with Pakistan in the year 1947, 1965, 1971 and with china in 1962
- They have served with Indian Peace Keeping Force in Sri Lanka, OP Parakram & other peace keeping missions.
- 12 National Florence Nightingale Awards conferede ro MNS which is the highest national level award in field of nursing
- AIM-‘Victory through Jointness’
- On this occasion army officers payed homage to the martyrs in ‘Amar Jawan Jyoti’, India Gate in New Delhi.
- It may be noted that the Government had taken a decision in October 2001 to create the HQ IDS in the aftermath of ‘Operation Vijay’ (Kargil Operations).

- RWA Federation of Mysuru has shown the way in Zero-waste effluent management system.
- Roseland Housing Society, Pune also gets the award for waste segregation initiative.
- Kasturba Gandhi Balika Awasiya Vidyalaya, Ambikar gets the award
- Swacch Ambikapur Sahakari Samiti has been chosen for women empowerment and livelihood generation by converting garbage into wealth.
- Pemayangste Monastery, Gyalshing, Sikkim will be felicitated in the category of religious institutions for being a Zero-waste institution.
9-NHAI-50 Free Eye Check-up camps
- The Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Shipping and Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation Shri Nitin Gadkari will launch the countrywide Free Eye Check-up Campaign and distribution of spectacles for truck drivers, cleaners and helpers on 2nd October, 2017 at Panjari Toll Plaza, Nagpur Bypass, Nagpur in Maharashtra.
- The objective of this initiative is to ensure clearer vision and safe travel for truck drivers who are the most frequent users of national highways.
- This initiative is expected to reduce the number of accidents involving trucks and encourage regional staff and NGOs to set up such camps on regular basis.
- Wardha Dry Port will be constructed over an area of 350 Acres with an investment of Rs.500 Crore
- The dry port was developed in the region of Wardha-Maharastra
- The Dry Port is being developed by the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) in a bid to cater effective logistics services to the industries in Vidarbha region and improve cargo throughput at the Port.
- The project would have the necessary facilities as one-stop shop for the EXIM based industries such as customs clearance facilities, Container Freight Station, Warehousing Space, Cold Storage, Liquid Storage, truck terminals etc.
- It is logistical proximity to upcoming Nagpur-Mumbai super communication expressway, National Highways and railway connectivity
- The dry port shall get connected to the Central Railways network through Nagpur-Wardha line, to Nagpur-Mumbai Super Communication expressway and six lane National highways connecting major cities of central, Southern and Northern India
