3-PM to visit Himachal Pradesh
- Modi, visit to Bilaspur in Himachal Pradesh,
- He will lay the foundation stone for the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), at Bilaspur.
- This 750 bed hospital will be built at a cost of approximately Rs. 1350 crore.
- In addition to healthcare, it will also provide medical education at the under-graduate and post-graduate level, besides nursing.
- The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), at Una.
- And also inaugurate a Steel Processing Unit of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), at Kandrori, Kangra.

- Prime Minister appreciated Sh Anupam Kher, Sh Mohanlal, Smt Chanda Kochhar, India Today Group, India TV News, Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, Indian Cricket Team, Sh Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Dettol India, NDTV, Reliance Foundation, Tata Trusts, Sh Akshay Kumar and Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, for their support and efforts towards the Swachh Bharat Mission.
5-Global Wildlife Programme
- India’s National Wildlife Action Plan (NWAP) for the period 2017-2031 and Secure Himalaya were released
- NWAP has been made landscape-based, rather than sanctuary, or national park-based
- The Plan focuses on preservation of genetic diversity and sustainable development.
- The NWAP has five components, 17 themes, 103 conservation actions and 250 projects.
- The five components
- strengthening and promoting the integrated management of wildlife and their habitats
- adaptation to climate change and promoting integrated sustainable management of aquatic biodiversity in India
- promoting eco-tourism, nature education and participatory management
- strengthening wildlife research and monitoring of development of human resources in wildlife conservation and enabling policies and resources for conservation of wildlife in India
- The Plan will help to mainstream wildlife conservation in development planning processes.
- The Minister also launched the India Wildlife Mobile App
- Third National Wildlife Action Plan. These issues include climate change and wildlife, wildlife health, inland, coastal and marine conservation and wildlife conflict mitigation.

7-Open Defecation Free status

- Five more states declared as ODF Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chattisgarh, Jharkhand and Haryana have reached the milestone of making all cities and towns ‘Open Defecation Free’ as the Swacch Bharat Mission completed three years today
- Target of building about 66 lakh individual household toilets in urban areas, 38 lakh toilets have already been built and construction of another 14 lakh toilets is in progress.
- Over two lakh community and public toilet seats have been built as against the mission target of five lakh toilet seats.
- Solid Waste Management
- To generate over 500 MW of electricity and over 50 lakh tons of compost from municipal solid waste to enable processing of the entire solid waste being generated in urban areas.

- Development of Muktyala to Vijaywada stretch of Krishna River
- ice president inaugurate approximately 415 km of National Highways projects
- NW-4 in Andhra Pradesh is proposed to be developed in three phases
- Phase-I: -Muktyala to Vijayawada (Krishna River) (82 Km)
- Phase-II: -Vijayawada to Kakinada (Eluru canal & Kakinada canal) and Rajahmundry to Polavaram stretch of Godavari (233 Km)
- Phase-III: -Commamur Canal, Buckingham canal and balance stretches of Krishna & Godavari Rivers (573km)
- 82 km from Muktiyala to Vijayawada stretch has already commenced.
- Dredging began in the shallow areas in May this year, and the work is expected to be complete by June, 2019.
- The project will provide an efficient logistics solution to boost the economic growth of the region and facilitate the development of the capital city Amravati during its early development stage as substantial construction material is expected to be transported on this stretch of NW-4.
- National Waterway No.4 was declared in November, 2008 for a total length of 1078 km.
- This length was extended to 2890 km by NW Act-2016

- President Appoints Commission to Examine Sub Categorization of other Backward Classes under Article 340 of the Constitution
- Decision will ensure more Backwards amomg OBC Communities to Avail benefits of Reservation
- It Reinforces Government’s effort to Achieve Greater Social Justice And Inclusion for all through Sub Categorization of the OBCS
- Sub categorization of the OBCs will ensure that the more backward among the OBC communities can also access the benefits of reservation for educational institutions and government jobs.
